Dam Safety Authority issued an Orange alert for Idukki dam reservoir on Monday in the wake of torrential rains in Kerala.

Idukki: Dam Safety Authority issued an Orange alert for Idukki dam reservoir on Monday in the wake of torrential rains in Kerala.

Also, Blue alert has been issued for Idamalayar reservoir, Ernakulam district and Red alert for Kakki reservoir, Pathanamthitta district.  

Central Water Commission has warned that river Kallada at Pattazhy in Kollam district is flowing in SEVERE SITUATION at a water level of 9.49m as on 18.10.2021.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has spoken to Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan to discuss arrangements to tackle flood situation in the state.

"Spoke to Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan and discussed the situation in the wake of heavy rains and landslides in Kerala. Authorities are working on the ground to assist the injured and affected. I pray for everyone’s safety and well-being," tweets PM Narendra Modi.
