Assembly will discuss anti-conversion bill tmorrow

Belagavi: Speaker Vishveshwara Hegde Kageri informed the Legislative Assembly that, the Karnataka Protection of Right to Freedom of Religion Bill-2021 will be taken up for discussion on Thursday morning.

Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister J.C. Madhuswamy requested the Chair to take up the anti-conversion bill for discussion. However, opposition leader Siddaramaiah requested the Speaker to allow the members to discuss North Karnataka issues as a priority.

“Anti conversion bill can be taken up for tomorrow for discussion, we want the government to reply on the bill before that North Karnataka issues should be discussed first”, Mr. Siddaramaiah said and he requested the Speaker to extend the House for two more days to discuss burning issues of North Karnataka.

Speaker has agreed to the suggestions from the Opposition, informed the House that the anti-conversion bill will be taken up for discussion on Thursday morning, after that he will allow the members to raise the North Karnataka issue.
