Bengaluru: Both BJP and Congress leaders are involved in blame-game over the killing of Bajarang Dal activist Harsha in Shivamogga on Sunday night.
Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, Bajarang Dal worker Harsha was killed yesterday night, five to six assailants have killed him with deadly weapons. Police have started an investigation and taken one accused into custody.
Home Minister Araga Jnanendra has confirmed that police have taken into custody one accused. Police will arrest the remaining accused soon, he said.
“Investigation is going on, yet this state I appeal people of Shivamogga to maintain peace. The additional police force has been deployed to maintain law and order”, Mr. Bommai said.
Chief Minister has refused to comment on Eshwarappa’s statement. “Why should I react to Eshwarappa’s statement. The truth will come out only after the investigation”, Mr. Bommai replied.
Opposition leader Siddaramaiah demanded the resignation of the Home Minister Araga Jnanendra for ‘failing’ to maintain law and order in the state. “Murder has taken place home district of the Home Minister, he has no moral right to continue as minister, he completely failed in protecting law and order in the state”, Mr. Siddaramaiah alleged.
Police must arrest the accused, instead of blaming Congress while sitting at Bengaluru, ministers should allow to police to do their work, he said.

Regarding Eshwarappa’s allegation against Shivakumar regarding the incident, Mr. Siddaramaiah said that “there is no connection between brain and tongue of Mr. Eshwarappa. Thus there is no need to take his statement seriously”. Opposition leader demanded the police to arrest the culprits and give justice deceased family.
KPCC President D.K. Shivakumar hit back at Eshwarappa and urged that police should register a case against him for giving provocative statements.
"Eshwarappa is a mad man. Siddaramaiah said that he doesn't have a connection between his tongue and brain. He speaks nonsense. Sedition case should be invoked against him and BJP should sack him", said Mr. Shivakumar on KS Eshwarappa's allegations against him of instigating people
BJP general secretary C.T. Ravi also gives a communal angle to the incident, he said Islam encourages intolerance. Police should investigate the matter and give justice to the deceased family members, he demanded.
