Bommai to hold emergency meeting with experts on COVID-19
Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has called an emergency meeting with experts on Saturday regarding the third wave of Covid-19 in the state.
The meeting with the experts has been scheduled soon after the chief minister's return from his official tour to Dakshina Kannada district on Thursday.
The chief minister directed the district authority to be on alert on areas sharing a border with Kerala. He directed officials on regular monitoring in border areas, contact tracing, and home isolation.

CM has ordered district authorities to improve the health infrastructures, beds, ICU units, and Oxygen supply to all government hospitals in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts.
Talking about the scheduled meeting, Revenue Minister R Ashok said, "Karnataka Chief Minister to hold a meeting with experts on Saturday in Bengaluru regarding third wave COVID 19. Likely to impose more strict rules after August 15".
News 18 reported that the government is likely to impose partial lockdown in the state from August 16. Speaking to The Times of India, the chief minister said that he does not want to impose a lockdown again and trouble people as he believes that prevention is better than cure.
