Lucknow: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has released the first list of candidates for upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls.
In the first list consisting 53 candidates, remaining 5 will be released in a day or two, said BSP Chief Mayawati here on Saturday.
Mayawati reposed confidence on coming back to power in Uttar Pradesh. She said that joining of OBC leaders of BJP to SP, will not help that party. With the fear of losing tickets, few BJP MLAs have switched over to SP, she said.
Elections for the 403 Assembly constituencies in Uttar Pradesh will be held in seven phases starting February 10. A total of 58 assembly seats spread over 11 districts will go the polls in the first phase on February 10.
