Cabinet expansion: Yogi meets Shah, Nadda
Lucknow: Amidst speculation over the expansion of the Cabinet and nominations to the Upper House, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and BJP leaders have held discussion with BJP National President J.P.Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah at Delhi on Thursday evening.
Uttar Pradesh will go for elections on February-2022; thus, the Chief Minister has decided to the expansion of his cabinet. UP bjp leaders have held elaborate discussions with party top brasses regarding the expansion of the cabinet with probable’s list.
UP BJP President Swatantra Dev Singh and state general secretary (organization) Sunil Bansal were present in the meeting. Suspense regarding who will be inducted to the Cabinet will be soon over, Expansion of the cabinet will be taken place very soon, said BJP leader.
The meeting was held at the officials' residence of Mr. Shah. Mr. Nadda is also presents in the meeting. Many cabinet aspirants have recently taken Delhi trip, met party top brasses in this regard.

Four names are doing the rounds to the Yogi cabinet, including former Union minister and Congress heavyweight Jitin Prasada, who recently jumped the ship. The name of former UP BJP chief Laxmikant Bajpai is also being discussed. After appointing them as MLC, the Chief Minister is likely to induct them into the cabinet, sources added.
Meanwhile, party leaders have also discussed about the appointment of MLCs to the Upper House since seven seats are vacant. Sanjay Nishad of the Nishad party is also a strong contender for MLC post and recently met Mr. Shah in Delhi. The government has decided to appoint four to five MLCs to the Upper House.
