‘Covid infected’ couple commits suicide
Mangaluru: Young couple residing in Baikampadi have committed suicide, fearing that they got infected with the coronavirus.
Deceased Arya Suvarna and his wife Guna Suvarana has taken extreme step by hanging to the ceiling fan at their apartment in Bycampandi.
Before committing suicide, Arya Suvarna sends a voice message to the Managluru Police commissioner N. Shashikumar, informing him about his decision to take an extreme step.
Police Commissioner, in turn, quickly responded to the voice message, requesting Arya Suvarna not to take any hasty decision. Commissioner has also instructed jurisdictional police and media WhatsApp group to rescue the couple as early as possible. However, before the police reached the spot, the couple committed suicide, leaving a death note.
Deceased Suvarna stated in a death note that he had diabetes; despite taking medicines, it was not regulated. “ We got married in 2000, but no kids, my wife got aborted twice, we led the life unhappily”, Arya Suvarna stated in a death note.
The couple was fearing that they got infected with coronavirus and decided to end their life. They requested to distribute their belongings to the poor and needy.
