Yediyurappa is the only serving BJP leader in the country who is well above 75 years of age. In 2019, the party high command decided not to give poll tickets to those above 75.
After Yediyurappa's Delhi visit, rumours are doing rounds of the new chief minister for the state. Yediyurappa met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and the party chief JP Nadda.
However, after the Delhi visit, Yediyurappa denied media reports on impending leadership change.
