Five states elections results will influence national politics
All eyes on results of five Assembly states including Hindi heartland Uttar Pradesh. Uttar Pradesh elections are considered as a semifinal to 2024 Lok Sabha elections. It is most crucial for Prime Minister Modi as well as BJP to aim for third term in 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
New Delhi: Counting of votes of all five states will begin at 8 AM today. Five states assembly elections are considered as mini samara and warm-up for all political parties to prepare 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Nationalism, communalism, polarization, unemployment, farmers' issues, law and order, appeasement politics, hijab row, failure of Modi govt in last 7 years, Covid, authoritarianism, many issues were raised in the elections campaign. There is no formidable opposition to counter or check the BJP's in the national arena. Modi and Amit Shah 'jodi' is unstoppable in recent elections. However, the Opposition is divided, many leaders are eying to PM post. TMC and AAP aspiration to extend their footsteps across the Country also worried BJP and Congress.
Exit polls predicted that BJP will return to power in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Manipur. Even it has the edge in Goa. Exit poll predicted that AAP will come back to power in Punjab.
Goa has seen Aaya Ram and Gaya ram in the last ten years. MLAs have defected and changed their loyalty often. First time, both Congress and AAP taken oath from MLAs while issuing B form, stating that they will not cross or defect the party if they win the elections.
Kejriwal is emerging as strong opposition to BJP, his party is widening base in more than one state., If it comes to Punjab, Kejriwal's next target is Haryana and Gujarat.

Both Arvind Kejriwal and Mamata Banerjee trying to form an alternative to BJP at the National level. Both leaders are ambitious to become Prime Minister and had the intention to form a strong alternative to the BJP without aligning with Congress. Both want to emerge as the principal challenger to Mr. Modi ahead of 2024. Mr. Kejriwal’s focus is Punjab where his party had emerged as the second largest in 2017; Ms. Banerjee is focussing on Goa. The AAP is also in Goa, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh; the Exit poll predicted that AAP would win in Punjab with a landslide victory.
Five states Assembly election results will also decide the fate of BSP supremo Mayawati. She has shown not much interest in the UP campaign, though her party has taken 25 percent of votes in the 2017 elections. She has started her campaign late. If BSP defeats, political pandits stated that her political career will come to an end.
