Goa Assembly election win: CT Ravi gives credit to PM Modi
The saffron party is just short of one seat in the 40-member Assembly. The party has garnered the support of the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party and independents, and it is all set to form the next government in the coastal state.
Bengaluru: BJP national general secretary CT Ravi said that his party won in the Goa Assembly election because of the hard work and name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Ravi credited the party’s victory to the Prime Minister. He said he thanked the PM, because of his name and hard work. We won the Assembly election in Goa.
The saffron party is just short of one seat in the 40-member Assembly. The party has garnered the support of the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party and independents, and it is all set to form the next government in the coastal state.
Goa’s acting chief minister, Pramod Sawant, Goa BJP president Sadanand Shet Tanavade, and general secretaries Satish Dond and CT Ravi met Modi in Delhi ahead of the formation of the government on Wednesday.
The date for the oath-taking ceremony has not yet been decided. The Central observers, NS Tomar and L Murugan will decide on it, said Ravi.
In the recently concluded Assembly elections, Congress managed to win 11 seats, while MGP, Goa Forward Party, and Revolutionary Goans Party won one seat each. AAP won two seats.
Tanvade also met the National President of the BJP, JP Nadda, with whom he discussed election results and thanked him for his support.
Both Dr. Sawant and Tanvade met a battery of leaders in New Delhi, including Home Minister Amit Shah, Kishan Reddy, Pralhad Joshi, and others.
Meanwhile, the Congress has appointed Rajani Patil, a Congress leader, to access the post-poll situation and suggest organizational changes in Goa.
