High court issues summons to BSY, Vijayendra

Bengaluru: The High Court has issued summons to former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa and his son B.Y. Vijayendra in connection to corruption charges against them. 

Advocate T.J. Abraham filed a petition seeking a probe against both, the court has issued the summons, directing both to appear before the court on August 17 in person. 

The petitioner has stated that Mr. Yediyurappa is a former chief minister, to initiate enquiry against him, there is no need for a prerequisite sanction from the Governor. 

Earlier, lower court had dismissed the petition filed by Mr. Abraham, observed that there is a prerequisite sanction is needed from the Governor to initiate enquiry against the sitting chief minister. 

Now petitioner has stated that Mr. Yediyurappa has resigned to cm post, there is need of prerequisite sanction needed to initiate enquiry against him.
