Kerala BJP OBC Morcha leader, SDPI State Secy killed in Alappuzha, Sec 144 imposed
Kerala Police is investing if there is any link between the murders. Section 144 has been imposed to control the situation.
Alappuzha: Two alleged murders of Kerala BJP OBC Morcha leader and Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) State Secretary has escalated political tension in the Alappuzha district in Kerala.
BJP OBC Morcha State Secretary Renjith Sreenivasan was allegedly killed in Alappuzha on Sunday following the alleged murder of SDPI's KS Shan in Alappuzha district on Saturday.
Kerala Police is investing if there is any link between the murders. Section 144 has been imposed to control the situation.
"More investigation is required. One murder occurred yesterday night and the second happened around 6:30 am today. We have imposed Section 144; questioning suspicious people. We are checking if there is any link between the murders," said G Jaidev, SP Alappuzha, to news agency ANI.
Union Minister V Muralidharan blamed the Islamic terrorist group for the murder of the BJP leader. He demanded strict action against perpetrators.
He said "I've been told that State Secretary of BJP OBC Morcha was stabbed to death, this morning. This is the handy work of Islamic terrorist group is the information coming from Alleppey (Alappuzha). I demand the State government to take strict action against perpetrators."
It's not the first incident; a few weeks ago a BJP worker was killed in Palakkad. The state hasn't taken the required action to prevent such incidents. Instead, they have been taking a soft stand with Islamic terrorists which has encouraged them to indulge in more violence," added Muralidharan.
