Barabanki Bride Goes Missing Hours After Wedding, Skips Vidaai Ceremony

A wedding in Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki district took an unexpected turn when a bride vanished just hours after completing all rituals, forcing the groom to return home without her. The groom’s family has now filed a complaint against the bride’s relatives.

Pallavi and Sunil Kumar Gautam’s marriage had been fixed three months ago. On Tuesday night, the groom arrived in Barabanki with nearly 90 guests. The couple exchanged garlands, participated in all the rituals, and even danced on stage together after the Jaimala ceremony. The wedding concluded late in the night.

However, on Wednesday morning, as preparations for the vidaai ceremony began, the bride’s family discovered that Pallavi was missing from her room. Initially believing she might be nearby, both families searched extensively for hours. By noon, when she still could not be found, panic set in.

Early reports suggest that the bride may have eloped with an alleged lover. Police suspect she slipped away during the night after the ceremonies ended, taking advantage of the chaos and fatigue in the household.

The groom’s family has filed a formal complaint, and police are now investigating. Authorities are checking mobile phone records and scanning CCTV footage to trace the bride’s movements.
