Indian film 'Sardaar Ji 3' sets new box office benchmark in Pakistan
KARACHI, June 30:
The Indian Punjabi film Sardaar Ji 3, featuring Diljit Dosanjh and Pakistani actress Hania Aamir, has made history at the Pakistani box office, earning a record-breaking opening weekend and surpassing previous collections of Bollywood releases in the country.
The film stirred controversy in India due to the inclusion of Hania Aamir amid ongoing India-Pakistan tensions. As a result, the producers chose not to release the film domestically in India.
Premiering internationally on June 27, Sardaar Ji 3 collected an estimated PKR 9 crore (approximately USD 500,000) in Pakistan over its opening weekend—setting a new benchmark for the highest-ever three-day gross by an Indian film in the country.
