Let BSY complete his term as CM: Siddaganga Swamiji

Bengaluru: More than 35 pontiffs of Lingayat and different mutts on Wednesday held a meeting with Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa at his residence in Bengaluru.
The pontiffs are mounting the pressure on high-command not to remove BSY as chief minister at this juncture.
Tumkuru Siddaganga Mutt pontiff, Shri Siddalinga Mahaswamy said, "BS Yediyurappa should complete the next two years. Covid-19 pandemic, monsoon season challenges need experienced leadership."

Asked about why pontiffs supporting Yediyurappa, Siddalinga Swamiji said, "We have supported all chief ministers of the State. We just want BSY to complete the term."
The pontiffs unanimously urged the high command that the party can find a new chief ministerial face after Yediyurappa completes his term.
Yediyurappa is the only serving BJP leader in the country who is well above 75 years of age. In 2019, the party high command decided not to give poll tickets to those above 75.
After Yediyurappa’s Delhi visit, rumours are doing rounds of the new chief minister for the state. Yediyurappa met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and the party chief JP Nadda.
However, after the Delhi visit, Yediyurappa denied media reports on impending leadership change.
