Sonowal, Scindia, top BJP leaders present at Lok Kalyan Marg

New Delhi: Top BJP leaders are huddled at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg, ahead of Union Cabinet reshuffle On Wednesday. 

Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President JP Nadda, Meenakshi Lekhi, Sarbananda Sonowal, Purshottam Rupala, Nisith Pramanik, RCP Singh, Pashupati Paras, present at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg. 

Former Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal is likely to get a ministerial berth after he paved for Himanta Biswa Sarma to be the chief minister of Assam. 

Sonowal has also served as the Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of India, from 2014 to 2016. 

Jyotiraditya Scindia is also seen as probable for induction as a minister in the Modi government. Scindia is a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha representing the state of Madhya Pradesh.

Amidst speculations, reshuffle leaders are tightlipped about their induction into the Cabinet. 

The present strength of the council of ministers of the Modi government is 60 after the President of India appointed Thawarchand Gehlot as the Governor of Karnataka.

Leaders from poll-bound states are also likely to get a chance in the cabinet reshuffle. In 2022, assembly elections will be held in Goa, Gujrat, Himachal Pradesh, Manipur, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh.
