Puneeth Namana: CM Bommai announces 'Karnataka Ratna' for Puneeth Rajkumar
The chief minister announced 'Karnataka Rathna' (posthumously) for the departed actor.
Bengaluru: 'Puneeth Namana', an event to pay tribute to late actor Puneeth Rajkumar, organised by Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) was attended by prominent stars of southern film industry, actors, and Dr Rajkumar family members on Tuesday. The three-hour event was held at Palace Ground in Bengaluru.
The event was attended by 1,500 people and necessary arrangements were made for the event. The entire event was telecast live on television. Actors from neighbouring Kollywood and the Tollywood industry were present in person attended the event presided over by Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
Karnataka Ratna:
The chief minister announced 'Karnataka Rathna' (posthumously) for the departed actor. He said the ward is an honour to the beloved actor. The award is the highest civilian honour of the state. It is awarded to a person for his extraordinary contribution in any field. It was constituted in the year 1992. Puneeth's father, Dr Rajkumar, was awarded 'Karnataka Ratna' in 1992.
