Punjab MLAs will now be eligible for only one pension: Bhagwant Mann
Chandigarh: In a politically bold decision, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced that Punjab MLAs, ex MLAs will get a pension for only one term, irrespective of how many times they win.
Mann said "Today, we have taken another big decision. The pension formula for Punjab's MLAs will be changed. MLAs will now be eligible for only one pension. Thousands of crores of rupees which were being spent on MLA pensions will now be used to benefit the people of Punjab".
Also, there will be a reduction in allowances given to MLAs' families.
A day before, on the occasion of Shaheedi Diwas, AAP Government launched an anti-corruption helpline. if government officials asked bribe, people can send audio/video recordings on 9501200200. The chief minister assured strict action against the corrupts.
