Rahul Gandhi drives tractor to Parliament in protest against farm laws

New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi drove in a tractor to Parliament to attend Monsoon Session in protest against three farm laws passed by the Central Government.

Rahul Gandhi said, "As per Govt, farmers are very happy and those (protesting farmers) sitting outside are terrorists. But in reality, farmers' rights are being snatched away".

Delhi Police detained Congress General Secretary Randeep Surjewala, Youth Congress chief Srinivas BV, and some party workers for taking out a tractor march in violation of Section 144 of CrPC.

Separately, people of Jind (Haryana) have decided to carry out tractor parade on Aug 15. Tractor rally with tableaus to be held in the entire city with both national flag and 'kisan' flag mounted on tractors. The famer union has decided not to allow BJP leaders to unfurl the national flag.
