Remove loudspeakers from mosques or we will play Hanuman Chalisa: Raj Thackery
Thackeray urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to raid mosques in Muslim neighbourhoods of Mumbai, claiming that the inhabitants are "Pakistani sympathizers."
Mumbai: The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena's Raj Thackeray urged on Saturday that loudspeakers be removed from mosques. He has threatened to play 'Hanuman Chalisa' in front of the mosques if the Maharashtra government fails to do so.
During his Gudi Padwa speech, he remarked, "I don't have an issue with prayers, but if these loudspeakers are not removed, I am warning now that double the speakers will be placed in front of these mosques, and Hanuman Chalisa would be played on them."
He addressed this at a public assembly in Mumbai's Shivaji Park. "I am not opposed to prayer or any particular faith." I am proud of my religion "He continued. He also chastised NCP president Sharad Pawar, accusing him of corruption "Playing the caste card and dividing people from time to time."

Raj Thackery also hailed Yogi Adityanath's government and said that Uttar Pradesh is progressing on the path of development and a similar kind of development should happen in Maharashtra also. He announced that he would be visiting Ayodhya but refrained from announcing the date of his visit.
