Telangana Congress leaders to meet Rahul Gandhi today at Delhi
Besides holding a discussion on the prevailing political situation in Telangana, the meeting would also be raising the issue of paddy procurement.
New Delhi: As Telangana is going for the polls next year, the political activities have already started in the State Congress. Few Congress leaders have arrived to Delhi to meet AICC leader Rahul Gandhi.
In this regard, the leaders of the party’s state unit are scheduled to meet Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to hold discussion on the coming polls.
Besides holding a discussion on the prevailing political situation in Telangana, the meeting would also be raising the issue of paddy procurement.
The reports said that the leaders would be meeting Rahul at his residence in Delhi.
It may be noted that Rahul has held a meeting already and it is his second meeting with the Telangana party leaders in the last seven days.
The meeting comes at a time when state Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao is nourishing his national ambitions and calling on the parties to form a non-BJP and non-Congress alliance for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
Notably, in the last Assembly elections in 2018 in Telangana, Congress had an alliance with the Telugu Desam Party, however, could not stop the return of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi's KCR government.
Making it categorically clear that the Congress has no plans to go with TRS in the coming polls, Telangana Congress Chief Revanth Reddy the Congress will form an alliance with any party except TRS.
"Congress would not forge an alliance with KCR and his party TRS at any cost because he is not trustworthy. We have seen him in 2004, 2009, 2014 and 2019. We can trust any other leader or party, but not KCR and TRS," Reddy told media persons.
