Thinker G.K. Govida Rao passes away at 86
Thinker G.K. Govinda Rao passed away at his daughter's residence in Hubballi on Friday morning.
Bengaluru: Theater artist, thinker G.K. Govinda Rao (86) passed away at his daughter’s residence in Hubballi on Friday morning.
Mr. Rao was known for his strong voice against radical right-wing groups and their atrocities in the state. A strong critic of right-wing extremist groups, Mr. Rao did English literature and worked as an English professor. He had participated in many pro-people movements and penned many books including mini-novel. Born on April 27, 1937, in Bengaluru, Mr. Rao had acted in many plays, movies and serials. He actively participated in establishment rallies, programs and raised voices against anti-people policies of the state and Centre.
Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, former Chief Minister B.S.Yediyurappa and Opposition leader Siddaramaiah condoled the death of Mr. Rao.
Mr. Rao has never compromised with his principles, he was straightforward in his approach, through his writings and speeches, he alerted the young minds to fight for justice
