Umesh Katti makes claims on K'taka CM chair

Bagalkot: Amidst calls for leadership change in Karnataka, senior minister and BJP leader Umesh Katti made claims to chief ministerial post on Monday.

Talking to the media, Umesh Katti said, " It's true that I am an aspirant for chief ministerial post because I have been elected nine times as MLA. I don't have blackspot on my political career. Let's wait for leadership change or wait until next assembly elections."

Katti said, "I am 60-year-old now, I can become chief minister in the next 15 years. Let's wait for the time. We don't know what's in our destiny. I keep striving for the best; hence my efforts are on in that direction."

When asked about what would he do if he gets the chance to the chief minister in the near future, he said, " I would give effective administration to the state. Neither have I approached the high command, nor does anybody approached me. But if I get the chance, I don't squander away the opportunity."

BJP has qualified leaders to become chief ministers. But a lucky person can become the nest chief minister.
