New Delhi: An unidentified man tried to drive into National Security Adviser (NSA) Ajit Doval's residence in New Delhi on Wednesday.
Delhi police have taken the person into custody. He was stopped and taken into custody by the security guards.
"According to the primary investigation, he seems to be mentally disturbed. He was driving a rented car," said Delhi Police.
NSA Ajit Doval has a much larger accommodation on the prestigious Janpath Road, close to where former PM Manmohan Singh stays. His predecessors had occupied a house on Teen Murti Marg. In fact, Doval's 5, Janpath address was earlier occupied by former PM I.K. Gujral.
Janpath is one of the main roads in New Delhi. It starts out as Radial Road 1 in Connaught Place, adjacent to Palika Bazaar, and runs north-south perpendicular to, and past Rajpath (the "Rulers' path"). Originally called Queen's Way, it was an important part of Lutyens' design of the Lutyens' Delhi, upon the inauguration of the new capital of India in 1931.
