9 Chinese, 2 soldiers killed in Pakistan bus blast
Islamabad: At least 13 people, including nine Chinese nationals and 2 Pakistani soldiers, were killed after a blast sent a bus plunging into a ravine in a remote region of northern Pakistan, according news agency Reuters.
China has condemned the blast. And asked Pakistan to thoroughly investigate the incident. China's Foreign ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian urged Pakistan to “severely punish” the perpetrators“ and "earnestly protect the safety of Chinese nationals, organisations and projects” in the country.
The explosion occurred near the Dasu hydropower plant in the Upper Kohistan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, says a Pakistani daily.
The Dasu hydropower project (DHP) includes the construction of a 4,320MW hydropower plant on the Indus River near Dasu town in Kohistan District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province, Pakistan.
