9 drowned to death, including groom, after car falls into Chambal river in Kota
Among those who have lost their lives include a groom. The Police have fished out the car with the help of a crane.
Kota: At least nine people died, who were on their way to attend a wedding in Ujjain, after their car fell off Chhoti Puliya into the Chambal river in Kota on Sunday.
Police have recovered all nine bodies from the Chambal river in Kota. Among those who have lost their lives include the groom. The Police have fished out the car with the help of a crane, reported news agency ANI.
The wedding party was going to Ujjain, as a bus went ahead, bu this car lost way and came on the small bridge and fell into the river. Seven bodies have been recovered from the vehicle and two from the water in the rescue operation, the Kota Police told agency.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot condoled the death of nine people.
Ashok Gehlot said, "The death of 9 people, including the groom, after the car of the wedding processions fell into the Chambal river is very sad and unfortunate. After talking to the collector, got information about the whole incident. My deepest sympathies are with the bereaved family, may God give them strength to bear this loss, may the soul of the departed rest in peace".
