AAP extends invitation to Hardik Patel to join them

New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party Gujarat President Gopal Italia on Friday invited Gujarat Congress leader Hardik Patel to join them as the speculations are rife that a strong Patel community leader is mulling quitting the grand old party.

Gopal Italia while inviting Patel to the party folds said it is a like-minded party and added that Congress doesn’t have a place for dedicated people like Patel.

Italia told ANI that If Hardik is not liking Congress, he should join a like-minded party like AAP. Complaining is just a waste of time he should contribute here.  However, Patel denied rumours of him leaving the Congress.

He said he has given his 100% support to his party, and vowed that he would continue to do so in the coming days. There would be some minor squabbles and blame games, but we must work together to make Gujarat a better place, he said.

He said the people of Gujarat are expecting from them and they should meet their expectations.
The AAP invitation comes after the Congress working president Patel publicly expressed his displeasure with the party's functioning.

On Wednesday, the Patidar agitation's leader claimed that he had been sidelined in the party. He regretted the fact that his skills had not been put to use by the Congress party, even though the party had benefited from the Patidar quota issue in both the 2015 local body elections and the 2017 election. Patel had stated the day before that he is not seeking any position.
