After Mamata, now Pawar wants united opposition to fight against BJP

New Delhi: With more reports coming in where central probe agencies are targeting leaders of the opposition parties, the prominent leaders of various opposition parties are not calling for a united fight against the Union Government.

Two leaders have now appealed to opposition parties to get united, are Sharad Pawar of NCP and Mamata Banerjee of the TMC.

Echoing the sentiments of Mamata her call for united opposition to fight against the BJP, Pawar said that it is time when all the opposition parties should come together to stop this onslaught on the opposition by the ruling BJP.

Stating that his party and other like-minded parties will raise the matter in Parliament, Pawar said that BJP is misusing probe agencies only to target the opposition.

He was replying to the question on Banerjee's letter to all non-BJP chief ministers and opposition leaders on the alleged misuse of central investigating agencies.

Participating in the national executive meeting of his party, Pawar accused the BJP of taking political vendetta by asking probe agencies to raise the properties only of opposition leaders.

"Those in power today believe that those who do not share their ideology are enemies. CBI/ED raids have become commonplace and used for political vendetta to trouble political opponents," he said, referring to the raids on his party colleagues Anil Deshmukh and Nawab Malik.

Claiming that at least one leader of the opposition party is being targeted by the BJP in any manner, he said that the PM wants the BJP to rule the entire nation even by going against the wishes of the people.

Sharing his views on 'The Kashmir Files' film, the NCP chief accused PM Modi of fomenting communal troubles by promoting a movie that stokes anger among people instead of healing age-old wounds.

"Whatever happened to Kashmiri Pandits was not good for the country. They had to leave their homes and come here. But, we need to forget the bygones, move forward and work towards establishing harmony among communities. But those responsible for ruling the country are promoting a film that spreads anger among the people,”  Pawar said.
