Amarinder Singh slams Sidhu's advisors for their remarks on Indira Gandhi
Chandigarh: Punjab Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu has summoned his advisors Malwinder Singh Mali and Pyare Lal Garg to his residence over their objectionable comments on late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and the Kashmir issue.
Mr. Mali and Mr. Garg's comments on social media on Indira Gandhi and Kashmir have been condemned by Chief Minister Amarinder Singh saying that "atrocious and ill-conceived comments".
Following controversy over their recent remarks on Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and the Kashmir issue and the Chief Minister’s warning against their remarks, Mr. Sidhu called them to his house, reprimanded them, and asked them to delete the post immediately.
Sidhu's advisor Malwinder Singh Mali had shared a controversial sketch of Indira Gandhi standing in front of a heap of human skulls, holding a gun with a skull hanging on it.

Earlier, Mali had courted controversy by claiming that Kashmir was a separate country. in the Facebook posts that both India and Pakistan were illegal occupants in Kashmir. "Kashmir belongs to Kashmiris. Going against the tenets of the UNO resolutions, India and Pakistan have illegally usurped Kashmir. If Kashmir was a part of India, then what was the need to have Articles 370 and 35-A? What was the special agreement with King Hari Singh? Tell people what were the terms of the agreement," he wrote on Facebook.
In another post, Mali suggested advised to Taliban: "Now it is their responsibility to protect Sikhs and Hindus. They will rule to improve the condition of the country, not like before."
Sidhu has appointed Pyare Lal Garg and Malwinder Mali as his advisers on August 11, but their comments on Pakistan and Kashmir have racked controversy in the party, opposition has taken a dig at Sidhu over comments of his two advisors.
SAD leader Daljit Singh Cheema had hit out that, “Who extended a hand of friendship towards Pakistan PM when the nation was against Pakistan? Who hugged the Pakistan Army chief? Navjot Singh Sidhu. When he's like that, why complain about his advisors?”
BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra criticized Sidhu and said, “It’s very strange that his advisors are speaking against India's interest. In the past, Sidhu had created controversy with his remarks on Pakistan. Rahul Gandhi should clarify whether Sidhu has appointed his advisors at his behest.”
Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit has said, “It’s objectionable. I advise Sidhu Ji to keep distance from him politically; he must ask him to be in his limits and stop making comments on things he has no knowledge of it .”
