M. Goutham Reddy was Minister of Industries, Commerce, IT & Skill Development in YSR Jagan Reddy Cabinet.  He is the son of the former MP of Nellore Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy.

Andhra Industries Minister Goutham Reddy no more

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Industries Minister Mekapati Goutham Reddy passed away following a heart attack on Monday morning at a private hospital in Hyderabad. He was 50.

M. Goutham Reddy was Minister of Industries, Commerce, IT & Skill Development in YSR Jagan Reddy Cabinet.  He is the son of the former MP of Nellore Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy.

Chief Minister YS Jagan and his wife YS Bharathi paid tributes to Minister Mekapati Gautam Reddy at latter's residence. Gautam Reddy's father Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy and his family members were consoled by CM YS Jagan and his wife.

Condolences poured in from the Vice-President M.Venkaiah Naidu, TS Assembly speaker P. Srinivas Reddy, TRS Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav.

Reddy had done his post graduation in United Kingdom and returned to India. He made his political debut in 2014 on YSRCP ticket.

He was a member of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly representing Atmakur (Assembly constituency) of Nellore district for the second time. He was a Member of the Legislative Assembly (India) from the Atmakur constituency in both the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election and the 2014 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election. 

He won the 2019 elections against Telugu Desam Party's Bollineni Krishnayya.

Last week, the state’s floor at the India pavilion was inaugurated by Goutham Reddy with H.E. Dr Thani Bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, H.E. Dr Ahmed Albanna, UAE Ambassador to India and Shri Sunjay Sudhir, India Ambassador to the UAE. The Andhra Pradesh week was concluded on 17th February 2022.
