CM-designate Bhagwant Mann to take oath on March 16, invites Kejriwal to swearing-in ceremony

New Delhi: AAP's Punjab CM candidate Bhagwant Mann to take oath on March 16. Mann has invited party's national convener and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal for the swearing-in ceremony. Also, he will hold a roadshow in Amritsar on March 13 along with Kejriwal.

Mann today met Kejriwal in New Delhi today. This comes after the Aam Aadmi Party’s resounding victory, winning 92 seats out of the 117 seats, in the Punjab Assembly Elections.

Speaking to reporters in Sangrur before leaving for the national capital, Mann said he was going to meet Kejriwal today and would congratulate him on the party’s stellar performance in the Assembly election.

In the election, the AAP decimated all political parties, including the Shiromani Akali Dal, the BJP, and Congress.

On a question on government formation, he said, "Let me go to Delhi, first meet our founder of the party, then I will be in Punjab to do development works. Our legislators are honest, and we do need to keep them in resorts, "he said, adding that he will be meeting the governor tomorrow and will seek his time for the oath-taking ceremony.

In his first speech after victory, Mann said the oath-taking ceremony would be held at Khatkar Kalan, the ancestral village of legendary freedom fighter Bhagat Singh in Nawanshahr district.

He claimed that the people of Punjab had defeated the arrogant people and blessed the Aam Aadmi Party.

Several stalwarts, including chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi, who contested elections from two Assembly seats, tasted defeat. AAP candidates defeated SAD chief Parkash Singh Badal, former CM Amarinder Singh, and PCC chief Navjot Sidhu.
