Bhima Koregaon case: Activist Sudha Bharadwaj gets default bail, NIA Court to decide bail conditions
Bombay High Court says that activist Sudha Bharadwaj's bail conditions will be decided by the Special NIA Court in Mumbai. HC also ordered that she should be produced before the Special NIA Court on 8th December.
Mumbai: Bombay High Court on Wednesday allowed default bail plea of activist Sudha Bharadwaj accused in Bhima Koregaon violence case and directed her to approach Special National Investigation Agency (NIA) Court for further proceedings.
Bombay High Court stated that activist Sudha Bharadwaj's bail conditions would be decided by the Special NIA Court in Mumbai. HC also ordered that she should be produced before the Special NIA Court on December 8.
Sudha Bharadwaj is a trade unionist, activist and lawyer who has lived and worked in tribal areas of Chhattisgarh for over three decades. She is an active member of the Chhattisgarh Mukti Morcha (Mazdoor Karyakrta Committee).
She is among the 14 activists, still in jail for allegedly conspiring caste violence at Bhima Koregaon near Pune in 2018. Tribal rights activist Stan Swamy, one of the accused in the case, died in custody in July this year after being repeatedly denied multiple bail pleas despite his deteriorating health.
