Covid 2nd wave: centre announces relief packages
New Delhi: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced relief packages for all sectors affected by the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The finance minister has announced eight major economic relief packages of Rs. 1.1 lakh crore loan guarantee scheme for the sectors affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Besides, additional Rs. 1.5 lakh crore under the Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS) was launched as part of the Atmanirbhar Bharat.
Last year, the ECLGS package was Rs. 3 lakh core, now the cap has been enhanced to Rs. 4.5 lakh crore. In 2020, the Union government has announced a relief package to all sectors.
The government will provide a guaranty to commercial banks for their lending to NBFCs – NFIs to small borrowers.
