BJP central leadership has told Eshwarappa to resign from the Cabinet. Congress is making this issue a political agenda for the 2023 Assembly elections.

Bengaluru: Pressure is mounting on BJP central leadership to take the resignation of RDPR minister K.S.Eshwarappa following register of FIR against him in connection with the suicide of civil contractor Santosh Patil.

BJP national President J.P. Nadda has taken details of the case and instructed Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai to take the resignation of Mr. Eshwarappa. Mr. Bommai said that after meeting Eshwarappa personally he will take an appropriate decision in the matter.

Meanwhile, Mr. Eshwarappa left for Shivamogga from Mysuru. He was supposed to travel to Bengaluru today, but changed his travel plan and left for Shivamogga. Sources in BJP said that the ‘tainted’ minister will resign today.

Opposition Congress has petitioned before Governor Thawarchand Gehlot, demanding the sacking of Mr. Eshwarappa from the Cabinet.

Opposition leader Siddaramaiah demanded the arrest of Mr. Eshwarappa since FIR was filed against him in the case.

Civil contractor Santosh Patil committed suicide in a lodge in Udupi. His body was found in the lodge, he send a WhatsApp message to the media blaming Eshwarappa was responsible for his death.

He was alleged that Mr. Eshwarappa demanded 40% commission to release funds for the civil works he has done Hindalaga of Belagavi district.
