Bommai presents 'RSS' budget: Siddaramaiah
Opposition Chief Minister Siddaramaiah criticized that Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai though he has not an RSS man, but presented the RSS budget.
Former Chief Minister and leader of the opposition, Siddaramaiah has called the Karnataka budget the RSS budget which was presented by Chief Minister, Basavaraj Bommai on March 4.
Participating in the budget discussion in the assembly, he said that he thought that the budget will have the presence of the view of Former CM, S. R. Bommai ( late father of Basavaraj Bommai), “ But I am disappointed that the budget has more presence of RSS influence”, he said.
Siddaramaiah said that Basavaraj Bommai does not come from an RSS background. Yet the BJP made him CM by ignoring other people who have RSS backgrounds.
“ S. R. Bommai had a socialist ideology, therefore, I was hoping that even his son Basavaraj Bommai will have a greater influence of that ideology which will reflect that in the budget. But unfortunately, he has presented an RSS budget. It would not have hurt much if the budget had been presented by a person with a clear RSS background. The budget indicates clearly that Bommai has become more of an RSS person which is visible in his budget”, he remarked.
Continuing his salvo at the BJP government’s budget, Siddaramaiah said that in order to brush the failure of the government under the carpet, the BJP is blaming the Covid pandemic for the crises.
Referring to the often-used phrase ‘government of double engine’ by BJP leaders to say that the party is ruling in the State and at the center, Siddaramaiah said that the government of double engine has miserably failed in meeting the aspirations of the people.
He also accused the Central government of not paying the due share of tax of the State. While Karnataka pays around Rs. 3 lakh crore in tax to Centre, but the Centres pays back mere Rs. 44,000 crore.
