Belagavi: To put an end to the speculation on change of leadership in the state, former Chief Minister B. S.Yediyurappa categorically stated that incumbent Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai will complete his term.
Speaking to 24x7liveindia.com, Lingayat strongmen dismissed the rumour about the change of leadership in the state.” Change of leadership is only a rumor, there is no truth in it. Basavaraj Bommai is doing good work and he is taking all leaders into confidence while taking a decision”, Mr Yediyurappa asserted.
No leaders have approached me regarding appointing Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje as the Chief Minister, there is no question of replacing the present Chief Minister, BSY reiterate.

“After my resignation to CM post, many people have said, Mr. Yediyurappa will take retiriment, but as I said, I will work for party, my main goal is to bring BJP into power in 2023 Assembly elections, in that direction, I would work for party”, Mr. Yediyurappa said.
However Lingayat strongmen have not ready to accept the leadership of Mr. Bommai for the 2023 Assembly poll, while asking about under whom leadership party would contest the elections, Mr. Yediyurappa repeatedly said that along with Bommai elections will be fought under collective leadership.
Lauding the leadership of Basavaraj Bommai, Mr. Yediyurappa said, “Mr. Bommai is taking all leaders together. He is doing honest effort to implement the developmental works. He has not received any set back for defeating bye elections of Hangal Assembly seat. But we will sit once again where went wrong in Council polls and take a appropriate decision to set right house in order”, Mr. Yediyurappa said.
In the BJPLP meeting held on Wednesday, MLAs have expressed their views on pending developmental works and the release of grants to their constituencies. Chief Minister has assured us that he will release the grants immediately. Within one week clear decision will be taken to release grants to the constituencies.
The former Chief Minister clearly stated that his goal is to bring the BJP government to power in the 2023 Assembly polls. Till then I will not take a rest, I will embark on a state tour next month along with party leaders.
Mr. Yediyurappa downplays the Congress preparation for the Assembly elections. We will not bother about Congress preparation for the elections and unity of Congress leaders, further, he said that Congress is making baseless allegations against the BJP government regarding 40 per cent of the commission in awarding the tender.
Council poll:
We have expected 15 seats in the Council polls, we have a hundred per cent sure of winning Mysuru, Tumakuru and Belagavi seats. But we lost due to a lack of coordination among local leaders. From 15 seats, we reduced 11 seats. For the loss of three seats, we will discuss and take an appropriate decision and fix the responsibility.
“Regarding lost of Belagavi seat, we will review in the meeting. Since many years Belagavi politics in problematic, we will handle it in right way in future. Our united effort has not enough to win Belagavi seat”, Mr. Yediyurappa said.
When comes to state politics, former Chief Minister B.S.Yediyurappa calls the shots. For two months speculation was high about a change of leadership. But Centre cannot take any unilateral decision without taking confidence of Yediyurappa regarding change of leadership. Mr. Yediyurapap said that there is no question of change of leadership in the state.
