Bommai will take oath as CM tomorrow
Bengaluru: Newly elected BJPLP leader Basavaraj Bommai will take oath as the 31st Chief Minister of Karnataka on Wednesday.
Soon after he was elected legislative party leader in the BJLP meeting held here on Tuesday evening, Mr. Bommai went to Rajbhavan to stake a claim to form the government. Governor Thawarchand Gehlot appointed him as the new Chief Minister.
Governor Thawarchand Gehlot will be administered an oath of secrecy to Mr. Bommai at Rajbhavan.
Speaking to the reporter after electing BJPLP leader, Mr. Bommai thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, former Chief Minister B.S.Yediyurappa and party senior leaders for reposing faith in me. He promised to provide clean and transparent administration in Karnataka as wished by the Prime Minister.
“I will discharge my duties diligently and honestly. We have many challenges before us including an anticipated third wave of covid and flood situations in the state. I will take all leaders into confidence to provide clean administration”, Mr. Bommai said.
