Karnataka: Basavaraj Bommai gets 3 Deputy CMs
Bengaluru: New Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai will have three Deputy Chief Ministers in the government.
To balance the caste arithmetic in the government, the high command appointed Govind Karajol, R Ashok and B Sriralumu as Deputy Chief Ministers. Govind Karajol is a Dalit leader, R Ashok is Vokkaliga and Sriralumu belongs to ST community.
The BJPLP meeting today elected Basavaraj Bommai as new chief minister. Caretaker CM BS Yediyurappa proposed the name and approved by Govind Karajol at a meeting held at The Capitol Hotel in Bengaluru.
Basavaraj Bommai will take oath as new chief minister tomorrow at 3.30 PM.
Bommai thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, former Chief Minister B.S.Yediyurappa and party senior leaders for reposing faith in me. He promised to provide clean and transparent administration in Karnataka as wished by the Prime Minister.
