BJP leader's nephew killed, 7 injured in grenade attack in Rajouri
Srinagar: A few days ahead of 75th Independence day, a two-year-old nephew of BJP leader was killed and seven others injured in a grenade attack targetting BJP leader Jasbir Singh's residence in Rajouri on Thursday.
Rajesh Kumar Shavan, DC Rajouri, said, "It is being seen that where was grenade hurled from. Police lodged an FIR. One child died, seven people are injured. All of them belong to one family. Investigation is underway ".
LG J&K Manoj Sinha strongly condemned the attack and expressed condolences to the family.
This is the second attack on BJP members this week ahead of Independence day celebrations. On Monday, Gulam Rasool Dar, Kulgam BJP Kisan Morcha president, and his wife were killed in an attack by shooters in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag.
According to news agency ANI, terrorists fired bullets at a couple at Lal Chowk in Anantnag. Both husband and wife were shifted to hospital. BJP Jammu and Kashmir spokesperson Altaf Thakur condemned the attack on the couple.
