CM Bommai inaugurates Vijayanagara district
Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has inaugurated the newly created Vijayanagara district. Then Chief Minister B.S.Yediyurappa has announced a new Vijayanagara district after yielding the demand of the people of Hospet.
Hospet: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai inaugurated the newly created Vijayanagara district here on Saturday.
On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, the newly created Vijayanagara district came into existence as the 31st district of the state. Former Chief Minister B.S.Yediyurappa has attended the function, in fact, he has sanctioned the district on February 2021 following immense pressure from the people of Hospete and minister Anand Singh.
Chief Minister has laid the foundation stone for various developmental works of the new district, the worth of Rs. 464 crore.
Tourism Minister Mr. Anand Singh has made elaborate arrangements for the inauguration of new districts. Replica of erstwhile Vijayanagara empire gate installed.
Creation of the Vijayanagara district was the long-standing demand of the people of Hospet, six taluks will be added to the newly added district, Hospete, Kudlgi, Hagribommanahalli, Huvinahadgali, Harappanahalli, and Kottur taluks will come under Vijayanagara district, earlier these taluks were under Bellary district. The headquarter of the new district will be Hospet.
