CM pacifies rebel minister Anand Singh

Bengaluru: Beleaguered BJP leader and Environment minister Anand Singh has decided to continue in Basavaraj Bommai cabinet following assurance of the Chief Minister and party state unit President Nalin Kumar Kateel regarding change of his portfolio. 

Mr. Singh who was decided to quit the Cabinet, met the party President and the Chief Minister today morning. Sources close to him also said that he was decided to quit primary membership of the party after resigning membership to the Assembly.

However, later he has decided to quitting the party as well as from the Cabinet. Mr. Kateel and Bommai assured Anand Singh that his demand would be taken up to Delhi and convinced him not to take any hasty decision. The Chief Minister has persuaded him to use the official car; heeding the request of the CM, Mr. Singh has decided to use the official car and attending office works from today onwards.

But Mr. Singh has threatened both party leadership and Chief Minister that if his demands are not fulfilled, his decision of quitting the ministry and from Assembly membership is certain. 

Chief Minister has assured him that during his Delhi tour this week, he will prevail upon the party leadership about his demands, including change of portfolio. 

After meeting with the party President and the Chief Minister, Mr. Singh said that, he met BJP state President Nalin Kumar Kateel and Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and decided to continue in the cabinet. 

"I have told them about my issue, they have assured me that my demand will be raised before the party central leadership and will find a suitable solution for that demand", he told reporters after meeting the Chief Minister. Mr. Singh has refused to comment on his resignation to the cabinet.
