Congress high command asks Sidhu to sack his errant advisors
New Delhi: Sending a strong message to Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu, the Congress high command instructed him to sack his two advisors who made a pro-Pakistan statement and also post the objectionable caricature of former Prime Minister late Indira Gandhi.
Congress high command instructions came after a rebellion against the Chief Minister Amarinder Singh by more than 30 Congress legislators and four ministers.

Punjab Congress in-charge, Harish Rawat, said that party had told Mr. Sidhu to sack his errant advisors; if he fails to do so, the party will sack them, Congress in charge said.
Pyare Lal Garg and Malwinder Mali, two advisors of Mr. Sidhu, were in the news for the wrong reasons. Their comments on Pakistan and Kashmir triggered controversy. In a Facebook post, Mr. Mali opinioned that both India and Pakistan were illegal occupants in Kashmir.

Mr. Rawat said that “advisors were appointed by the party. We have asked PCC President to sack them. If he does not do so, the party will dismiss them”, he said.
Congress high command categorically stated that Captain Amarinder Singh will lead the party in coming Assembly elections and ruled the change of leadership in the state.
