“Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived,” the statement added.

In his illustrious career over a span of almost 15 years, Shane Warne had the opportunity to lead the Australian Cricket Team too. One of his fiercest rivalries was against none other than the God of Cricket, Sachin Tendulkar. Warne had mentioned that he saw dreams of Sachin smashing him all over the park.

The news is the second devastating blow for Australian cricket within 24 hours with fellow great, Rod Marsh, also dying on Friday having suffered a major heart attack last week.
Affectionately known as ‘Warnie’ and adored by millions across the globe, Warne is considered by many as the greatest bowler to ever play the game.
His stellar international career spanned across 15 years and saw him take 708 Test wickets — the most ever for an Australian, and the second-most of all time behind only Muttiah Muralitharan.
Widely regarded as the greatest spinner to play the sport, the Australian cricketer had played 145 Tests and has 708 wickets in his name.
Shane Warne is widely regarded as one of the greatest bowlers to have played the game, having retired as Test cricket’s second-most prolific wicket-taker.
An iconic name in international cricket, Warne, since making his debut in 1992, played 145 Tests for Australia, picking up 708 wickets. In his 194 ODI appearances, Warne Pared 293 scalps. He was also named as one of Wisden's Five Cricketers of the Century who claimed 708 Test Wickets in a 15-year career between 1992 and 2007.

Warne's last tweet was just about 12 hours ago at 7:23 AM in the morning where he had expressed his condolences over the death of Rod Marsh- Australia's former wicketkeeper who passed away at 74, following a heart attack last week in Queensland.
