Dawood’s close aid Abu Bakar held in UAE

New Delhi: Indian security agency have taken into the custody of Dawood Ibrahim’s close aide Abu Bakar in the United Arab Emirates (UAE)
It was an important breakthrough from the Indian security agency arresting the most wanted terrorist and also accused of the 1993 Mumbai serial blast case. Accused will be brought to India after producing him in a local court in UAE.
Abu Bakar alias Abdul Gafur Shaikh was involved in the smuggling of gold, clothing and electronics from countries to Mumbai with Mohammed and Mustafa Dossa- key aid f Dawood Ibrahim.
He was arrested in 2019, but released on bail, agencies have failed to furnish sufficient documents for his arrest.
In a series of blasts, 257 people died and 1,400 were injured in the Bombay blast. Attack as carried out by Tiger Memon and Yakub Memon on the instruction of Dawood Ibrahim.
Supreme Court has upheld the death penalty of Yakub Memon in March 2013 for his involvement in arranging financial help to carry out a terrorist attack in Bombay (now Mumbai).
