Farmer was humiliated at Car showroom: He arranges Rs.10 lakh, demands for delivery
Farmer Kempegowda and his relatives arranged Rs. 10 lakh. Asked salesman to give delivery of the vehicle. But the salesman did U-turn, said he needs four days for the delivery of vehicle.
Tumakuru: A farmer in Tumakuru who went to a showroom to buy a car was humiliated by the salesman who mocked that he could not afford a car, later the farmer threw a challenge and returned with Rs. 10 lakh money.
The salesman apologized for humiliating the farmer and his friends. Tilakpark police have intervened in the matter, asked the salesman to apologize to the farmer.
The incident occurred at Ramanapalya in Tumakuru, Hebbur Hobli, Ramanapalya resident Kempegowda desired to buy a Bolero pick-up vehicle, he went to Mahindra Showroom in Tumakuru. But the salesman has humiliated Kempegowda after seeing his attire. “You don’t have ten rupees”, and asked he asked Kempegowda and his friends to leave the showroom.
Kempegowda and his friend took it as a challenge, asked the salesman if they arrange the ten lakh within half an hour, they can take the delivery of the vehicle, the salesman said in affirmative. Immediately, Kempegowda and his relatives arranged Rs. 10 lakh. Asked salesman to give delivery of the vehicle. Shocked by this incident, the salesman said he could not manage instant delivery - the waitlist is usually long. It would not take less than four days to deliver his car.
Kempegowda and his friends demanded an apology from the salesman for humiliating them. The matter has reached the Tilakpark police station. Later salesman apologized for his insensitiveness towards the farmer.
Later speaking to reporters, Kempegowda said that, the Mahendra showroom salesman has humiliated us after seeing our appearance. One month back I have approached the showroom enquired about Bolero pick-up vehicle and brought quotation. On Saturday, Kempeogwda and his friends went to the showroom with Rs. 2 lakh advance amount to book the vehicle. They requested the executive to deliver the vehicle with taking Rs. 2 lakh, he demanded full amount and he mocked at them saying you can not afford ten rupees, how can you buy a car. Later Kempegowda and his friends asked for 30 minutes time to arrange the money, sales executive agreed. Kempegowda and his friends arranged Rs. 10 lakh amount within half-an-hour, but sales executive did U-turn said that he cannot give instant delivery of the vehicle, said that he needs four days time.
Kempegowda and his friends insisted apology from the sales executive when he denied it, they lodged the complaint. With police intervention, the sales manager and executive tendered an apology.
The sales executive finally apologised to Kempegowda. "I don't want to buy a car from your showroom," the farmer said, walking off with his ₹ 10 lakh. The Incident went viral and it has been brought to the notice of Mahendra group chairman, Anand Mahendra.
