Heavy Rainfall Predicted In Telangana, Andhra; Check IMD Advisory For Other States

Torrential rain is continuing across many states, with areas from Delhi to Gujarat submerged in water. The IMD has forecast heavy rain from Thursday for the next few days. An orange alert has been issued for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, where heavy rain is expected. Floods have already caused significant damage in these two states.


Looking ahead, the IMD predicts that West and Central India will experience widespread light to moderate rainfall over the next six days. Heavy downpours are expected in Gujarat's Saurashtra and Kutch regions until September 6. In Maharashtra, heavy rainfall is likely to continue until September 8, with additional rain forecast for September 10. Goa can also expect heavy showers until September 8.

In South Peninsular India, the IMD has indicated that isolated very heavy rainfall is likely in Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam today. There will also be isolated heavy rainfall in Coastal Karnataka and North Interior Karnataka until September 8, in South Interior Karnataka until September 7 and in Kerala and Mahe from September 8 to 10.

In the eastern and northeastern regions, the IMD forecasts isolated heavy rainfall in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura until September 11. Arunachal Pradesh is expected to see heavy rains until September 6, while West Bengal, Bihar and Sikkim could experience heavy showers today, with Bihar under threat until September 6 and Odisha until September 8.

In the north and northwest, heavy rainfall is predicted in Uttarakhand and Rajasthan until September 8 and in Uttar Pradesh until September 6.
