Indian embassy ask Indians to leave Kharkiv by 6 PM
Advisory stated that Indian nationals including students immediately proceed to Pisochyn, Bezlyudovka and Babaye as soon as possible. They must reach these settlements by 1800 hrs (Ukrainian time) today, mentioned in the advisory.
New Delhi: Embassy of India in Ukraine had issued an urgent advisory to Indian nationals in Kharkiv to leave the city by 6 pm (Ukrainian time) today by train.
Advisory stated that Indian nationals including students immediately proceed to Pisochyn, Bezlyudovka and Babaye as soon as possible. They must reach these settlements by 1800 hrs (Ukrainian time) today, mentioned in the advisory.
For their safety and security they must leave Kharkive immediately, the Indian embassy advised. Kharkiv city is worst hit by Russian cruise missile and rocket attacks. Many government and military establishments were grounded due to heavy shelling.
Unfortunately during Russian troops shelling Karnataka student who studying medicine in Kharkiv city was killed. Naveen from the Haveri district was killed while the Russian attack.
In the aftermath of Naveen's killing in Kharkiv by Russian forces, the Indian government has stepped up its effort to evacuate Indian nationals from Kharkiv. Many Indian citizens have been trapped in the city. The Indian government has spoken to Ukraine and Russian counterparts for safe passage of Indian nationals from war zone area.
Russian authorities have warned Kharkiv citizens to leave the city as early as possible. It has also warned that it will strike more attacks on the second-largest city of the Ukraine.
Soon after India Embassy in Ukraine advisory, large number of students have proceeded to nearest railway students in Kharkiv to proceed towards Pisochyn, Bezlyudovka and Babaye. However Indian embassy also asked students not to proceed to Kyiv, because where Russian troops almost proceeded to the city with a more aggressive attack.
Next 48 hours is very crucial in war zone Ukraine. Russia has escalated its attack against many Ukrainian cities. Kharkiv is badly hit by the Russian attack.
Among students, more than 3000 Indian students are studying in Kharkiv, the eastern part of Ukraine city is known for leading medical colleges. Many Indian students are studying in medical colleges.
Among 3000 Indian students, nearly 250 students from Karnataka studying in Kharkiv. Since 7 days they have to get shelter in a bunker. Unfortunately, Naveen went out on Tuesday to procure groceries and exchange currency.
Just a while ago Russian troops dropped a missile on the city council in Kharkiv. Smoke coming out from the City council building, disturbing visuals shows that people are screaming for help in the city.
