IPL 2022 auction halts after auctioneer Hugh Edmeades collapses

Bengaluru: The mega Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 had halted for while after auctioneer Hugh Edmeades collapsed on dais.
The incident took place while teams are busy with bidding for Sri Lanka all rounder Wanindu Hasaranga.
"The IPL auctioneer is stable, the medical guys are looking at him. He should be back for the mega auction in the next set," BCCI media manager told media.
Both Royal Challengers and Punjab Kings are busy with bidding of Sir Lankan played Wanindu Hasaranga. Suddenly loud sound coming from dais, all franchise members who involved in the bidding looked shocked.

Edmeades was immediately moved out of the hall and taken to a hospital. PTI reporter quoting BCCI sources.
Official broadcasters Star Sports said that the auction will resume at 3:30 pm. In an another update, the broadcasters informed the viewers that Edmeades was fine.
Harshal Patel sold RCB for 10.75 crore
Before the incident, Harshal Patel was sold to RCB for Rs 10.75 crore, after Rajasthan Royals started the second round with a bang by picking up Shimron Hetmyer and Devdutt Padikkal.
Shreyas Iyer was sold to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for a whopping Rs 12.25 crore after Shikhar Dhawan, Kagiso Rabada went to Punjab Kings for Rs 8.25 core and 9.25 crore respectively. So far Iyer was sold to highest bid in IPL 2022.
Other big names like David Warner, Mohammed Shami were picked up by Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans respectively while Faf du Plessis was bought for Rs 7 crore by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
