Bengaluru: Amidst criticism for proposed population control bill of Yogi Adityanath government, veteran RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat urged the B.S.Yediyurappa government to bring two-child policy on the lines of UP government.
Speaking to 24x7liveindia.com, Mr. Bhat said he will demand BSY headed BJP government to bring UP model, two-child policy to check population growth in the state.
Yogi Adityanath government has drafted the proposed population control bill; which proposes if anyone violating the two-child policy in Uttar Pradesh will be debarred from contesting local bodies elections, from applying for or getting promotion in government jobs, and receiving any kind of government subsidy.
Welcoming the decision of the UP government, Mr. Bhat asserted that the two-child policy is a must to check population growth among all communities." I demand Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA government to bring a National policy on population control. There should be a uniform population policy for all the communities", Mr. Bhat remarked.
Contradicting to his earlier statement, calling Hindus to have more than two-child, Mr. Bhat said that, " earlier, I had given a call to Hindus to have more than two child, if the government brings uniform population control policy, it would automatically reduce the population of Muslims," he asserted.
If the two-child policy is implemented, the Muslim population will automatically be reduced in ten years, and the Hindu population will maintain the same growth, he added.
"Problem with our Nation is we are giving too much prominence to minority and majority aspects. Here (in India), we are all one. Uniform law should be there for everyone. The meaning of the word minority refers to those who migrated from foreign countries and their population was very meagre. However, here cannot call Muslims are minority, since they are living in India they belong to our Country, they have not migrated from any foreign countries. I am opposing to use of the terminology of minority and majority. If going by that term, Hindus are a minority in Kashmir, Assam and some parts of West Bengal. What UP government proposed population bill was good for all community", Mr. Bhat explained.
Referring to the population of Hindus, Mr. Bhat said, "Hindus are 79 %, but Muslim populations have been increasing drastically. If their population increases, Hindus will lose their identity". he opinoned.

Replying to a question on China's reversal of its population policy by adopting three child norms, Mr. Bhat said, "if the situation arises, we can also adopt three child policy in the future considering the interest of the Nation. I know China has suffered due to its rigid population policy. Now it has changed its policy considering the interest of the country. We can also adopt such flexibility norms in the future", he replied.
Ravi urges two-child policy norms: Meanwhile, BJP National general secretary C.T. Ravi urged the BSY government to bring population control policy on the lines of the UP government.
"It is high time Karnataka brings in a new population policy on the lines of Assam and Uttar Pradesh to control its growing population. With the limited natural resources available, it will be difficult to meet the needs of every citizen if there is a population explosion", he tweeted.
