Modi held closed door meeting with Sharad Pawar for 20 minutes

New Delhi: Meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Nationalist Congress Party leader (NCP) Sharad Pawar was a hot discussion in the parliament today.
Two leaders spoke for about 20 minutes, the meeting was held in the backdrop of the ED raids and investigations against the leaders of Maharashtra’s ruling Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress coalition. Sources says that ED raids on NCP leaders have come up in the discussions.
Sharad Pawar Nephew Ajit Pawar said that both leaders have discussed ongoing developmental works in Maharashtra and said, he did not know anything about it.
“The country's Prime Minister and the national president of a party can meet over developmental works. There are some important issues that need to be discussed when Parliament is in session. There may be such issues,” Ajit Pawar said.
The Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress government has alleged that the Centre is misusing probe agencies to witch-hunt ruling party leaders. The CBI took custody of Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, a senior leader of NCP.
The ED has seized assets worth more than Rs.11.15 crore of Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut’s wife and two of his associates in a money laundering case.
Sharad Pawar has hosted a dinner meeting to all parties MLAs and MPs at his Delhi house on Tuesday evening. Union Minister and senior BJP leader Nitin Gadkari has attended the meeting.
Modi’s meeting with Pawar was also tagged to the forthcoming Presidential elections. However, NCP has maintained that the meeting was purely on Maharashtra related issues.
Recently Mr Powar has rejected the idea of him leading the United Progressive Alliance (UPA), the coalition that, led by the Congress, ruled the country for 10 years.
